Sun and skin care manufacturer, Linco Care, has been awarded Ethical Accreditation for the first time by The Ethical Company Organisation, which provides ethical information on thousands of companies and brands around the globe.
Linco Care’s popular sun care brands, Calypso and Cabana Sun received an impressive Ethical Company Index (ECI) score of 92 out of 100 in the organisation’s Good Shopping Guide. They were listed among the top five most ethical sun protection brands in the world alongside Green People, Honesty and incognito.
The Good Shopping Guide is published annually and ranks the world’s companies and brands on their commitment to corporate social responsibility. As part of the research audit, The Ethical Company Organisation screens companies across a wide range of ethical criteria, which fall into the main categories of The Environment, Animal Welfare and Human Rights.
Linco Care prides itself on its commitment to ‘quality, ethics and innovation’ and was recognised for its many ethical achievements, particularly regarding animal welfare, as it does not test any of its products or ingredients on animals.
Another area where Linco Care excelled was sustainability. The company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint is evident in its recent investment in an ‘A’ graded warehouse for energy efficiency. The building includes a photovoltaic system on the roof, which allows the company to use all the energy produced during daylight hours and export excess power back to the grid.
Linco Care received Ethical Accreditation on 19 September 2018, and it plans to display the Ethical Award logo on all its new products in 2019.
