Replenishing Stock
In an effort to replenish plummeting hand sanitiser stock, Calypso, a brand commonly known for sun and health care products, releases a hygiene gel that has already reached over 1 million units in sales.
Supplying to supermarkets, pharmacies, and online, Calypso intends on providing customers with an alternative to leading brands in sanitiser that have seen stocks all but vanish. Panic-buying and stockpiling of hygiene products due to the coronavirus outbreak has not only seen a decrease in stock numbers but also a dramatic increase in prices, with small bottles of 50ml hand sanitiser selling for as much as £30 on Amazon Marketplace and Ebay.
Ethics
Linco Care is careful to ensure that ethical practices are always maintained when producing and distributing such an important product that involves the health of the general public.
Mr Farhad Seka, owner of Linco Care, is insistent that prices for the Calypso hygiene gel will remain as affordable as possible, stating that ‘there will be no increase in charge for the hand sanitiser. It will be sold at a price that reflects the item itself rather than the situation we find ourselves in.’
The release of Calypso hand sanitiser comes around the time that cases of COVID-19 reach over 270 people here in the UK. The virus is set to continue spreading with a peak of infection being predicted to occur in around 6 weeks’ time. Linco Care is prepared for the increase in production, with new lines opening up that are on reserve for contract manufacturing.
